PACK 02 · CLAUDE COWORK · WIKI SKILL

Every team has a wiki problem.
Stale Notion or no wiki at all.

We've built three businesses on the same wiki pattern — local-served HTML, markdown-rendered, no SaaS. This pack ships the running infrastructure: scripts, templates, and a SKILL.md that tells Claude how to maintain it.

01 · What's inside

What you get
when you buy this pack.

  • SKILL.md — Claude reads this and maintains the wiki for you. Add sections, inject nav, validate links.
  • start-wiki.command — one-click local server for Mac and Linux.
  • Shared CSS, doc viewer, and nav components — the same files we run at Stix Golf and Host Modern.
  • Six starter sections — Brand, Frameworks, Services, Audiences, Go-To-Market, Proposals. Adapt or delete.
  • Maintenance scripts — nav injection, link validation, build helper.
  • Install README — running in ten minutes from a clean folder.
  • Lighter playbook PDF — what wikis do well, what they don't, and why we built it this way.
02 · Best for

Who this is for.
And who it isn't.

Best for:

  • Teams of two to thirty with knowledge scattered across Slack, Notion, and Google Docs.
  • Operators who want canonical docs in plain markdown, not locked in a SaaS.
  • Anyone running Claude Code or Cowork who wants a knowledge layer Claude can read and update.

Not best for:

  • Single-founder companies under five docs of total knowledge. Use a Notion page.
  • Teams that need real-time multi-user editing on the same page. Use Notion or Google Docs.
  • Heavy-permission environments — HIPAA, SOX. The wiki is local-first plain HTML.
03 · What you'll need

Prereqs.

  • A Mac or Linux machine to host the wiki locally.
  • Basic terminal fluency. Running a .command file, navigating folders.
  • Optional — Claude Code or Cowork to use the SKILL.md layer.
04 · Sample prompt

What you'll be running.

Add a new section to the wiki called "Brand" with the brand-rules doc rendered.
Inject the nav across the new section. Validate all internal links.
05 · FAQ

Questions we get.

Does this work without Claude? Yes. The wiki itself is plain HTML and markdown. The SKILL.md is the optional layer that lets Claude maintain it. You can run the wiki by hand without any AI.

Can I host this on a domain instead of localhost? Yes. Drop the files in any static host — Netlify, Vercel, S3 + CloudFront. The pack assumes local-first; remote hosting is a ten-minute switch you do yourself.

Will my team edit it? They edit markdown files. The wiki re-renders on reload. No CMS to learn.

What if I outgrow it? If your team passes fifty people and needs SSO, search, and comments — switch to Notion or a wiki SaaS. This pack is the right answer for the first five years, not the next fifty.

How does this differ from a Notion workspace? Notion is a hosted SaaS with proprietary formatting. This is plain markdown on your own machine. The trade-off is real-time collab vs. portability and Claude-readability.

Can I run this on Windows? Not without modification. The .command file is Mac and Linux. Windows users would need to adapt — the content works fine in any browser, but the launcher script doesn't.
